How long do you have to renew your license plates if they expire tomorrow? I live in indiana and tomorrow my plates expire i wont have the money to get them til thursday. Does anyone know if you have a grace period or so long to get them renewed?

It turns out the program may be failing to get some renewals out on time. Exact Target, hired by the Indiana BMV to launch a new email alert system for registration renewals, may have missed the mark for some customers prompting the BMV to send out paper notices, just days before their car stickers expired.

Susana, it is DMV (dept. Of motor vehicle) I have never heard of anyone canceling their plates, I live in California, you cannot take your plats off of your car you let the registration expire. You have a delicate situation here, if she is caught driving without a drivers license or expired registration she most likely will get arrested, if she is not here legally they may deport her and her children. It is difficult to believe that this friend would jeopardize her future and her children’s future acting so irresponsibly plus the fact, if she was to harm someone driving in that condition she can kiss her freedom good.
